The fun thing about Kyoto's historic geisha district, Gion, is that they will dress you up as a geisha in a way that is proper and honors the geisha name.

The challenge is when you are not proper geisha shape. Geisha cannot be curvy, so they had to pad me up in multiple places to get the proper cylinder shape and sloping shoulders. There are two towels underneath the obi as well as various padding, plus padding on the shoulders so they didn't look so broad.

So by the end, I was wearing at least 5 layers of fabric, which weighed probably 5-10 lbs, plus a ton of makeup and a heavy wig.

Worth it. 10/10 would do again.

Now I have a kickass devID.
