LoZ: Twilight Princess Link

Done for pinkythepink 's Monthly Feature Challenge: ZELDA (as if I need an excuse to make a wild outfit.)

- Quilters cotton base
- Chainmaille is a bonded polyester mesh
- Stitched details are embroidered
- spandex gloves
- Belts and pouches are all leather
- Shoes are suede with a plastic base for stability. He can stand on his own without the use of a stand

The shirt is one solid piece, layered and closed by green Velcro in the back. The pants are separate, allowing for various sizes and shapes of ken dolls. The boots have a plastic base with a slot in the back to allow for the foot to slide in.

Link was a challenge, much like Zelda was. For him it was how to get the belts to sit right and sew at that small of a size. The belts are all handsewn on (my fingers hate me!) as are the pouches (which were a pain to turn rightside out).

This is my first Ken outfit (way to jump into the deep end of the pool, Sammy!) and it required a lot of modifications, ripping out seams, and restitching to get it to sit right. This was my fourth pair of boots that finally looked right.

Total construction time: about 40 hours.

Once I have a good, clear weekend, I'll take him and Zelda out for photos in the park.
