L'Iceheart

Second entry for the Fan Art Masterpiece Contest! This one is based on Alfonse Mucha's L'Illustration Magazine cover www.muchafoundation.org/galler…. This one features Shiva and Ysale from FFXIV.

I took a bright illustration about christmas and turned it into something cold. I had considered giving Shiva wings of ice (since the character had some sort of weird block wings), but Shiva has this amazingly long hair, and I love drawing mucha-style hair. The flourishes are all based on weapons dropped in the Shiva fight. The branch Ysayle is holding is the top of the white mage staff. The round flourishes are the top of the black mage staff. And the left border is based on the corner of the summoner tome.

The text is in Eorzean (the game's language) and reads:

Lady of Ice
FFXIV:HW

I had to buy a french curve to finish this.

20ish hours. Ink and colored pencils on recycled paper.
