Birth of Venus monochrome replication, 2001-2002

Part of a monochrome watercolor section in high school art class. This class truly was a journey. I had to choose a classic artwork and being a classical mythology nerd, I went with The Birth of Venus. I had to blow it up then turn this colorful painting into pure monochrome. This paper is huge. At least 20" wide. Each shade is a new layer of pink water color until I ended up with this. Easily one of my proudest arts. I really should frame this.
